Anna Lunoe and Born Dirty link up on fiery ‘Badass’

Anna Lunoe is having a resurgence in 2018, but one thing she’s always been — a certified bad ass.

The Australian producer/tastemaker has resumed her career as one of dance music’s most dominating power players, with a label, radio show hosting gig on Beats 1/Apple Music, and the authentically uplifting Hyperhouse brand as notes  already on her résumé. Now, she’s taken this year to challenge herself in the studio and explore new sounds. After the release of her infectious, “Blaze of Glory” earlier this year, she has linked up with West London’s Born Dirty on a collaboration that goes back to her funky house roots.

“Badass” is an underground-leaning house track, brimming with big room energy. While the collaboration saw its beginnings nearly a year ago, the pair shelved it for some time while Lunoe focused on motherhood after her baby girl was born last summer. But while most tracks would sit there for eternity, Born Dirty and the “Godzilla” producer stuck to it, revisiting the track with new perspective a year later to hit just the right mark. Lunoe explains,

It just basically encapsulates how I want people to feel: free, bold, spirited and enjoying the hell out of every moment they have on this planet. To me, my favorite tracks are the ones with a sense of humor about them. Yes they are bangers, but its light hearted – and that’s what is behind this track. Having a moment thinking you’re the shit.”

“Badass” is Anna Lunoe’s proper Mad Decent debut. With slicing retro piano chords, drawn out, heavy, acidic bass, and a roller coaster dose of Lunoe’s own vocal work, the onomatopoeic new “Badass” is now another anthem in Anna Lunoe’s catalog.
