Tristesse, acceptance, and hope — this is the emotional process that Guy J manages to bring about in his newest single, “End Of Lost Cause.” He ushers us in with warm, nostalgic notes, which slowly coalesce into a bittersweet peak that reminds one of the process of realizing something is a “lost cause,” and moving on from it. Soft instrumentation and an eerie voice speaking out the line, “it makes you wonder what the world is coming to” play a huge role in creating such a feeling, proving the producer’s excellence and intuition in sonic manipulation once more.
“End Of Lost Cause” was Guy J’s contribution to John Digweed‘s special Bedrock XX compilation, which celebrated the label’s 20th birthday.
