Hear Skrillex give it up on vocals in From First To Last’s new tune, ‘Surrender’
Skrillex has released the ultimate tearjerker of a reunion for fans of his former screamo/post-punk band, From First to Last. Rejoining with his former cohorts, Sonny Moore co-wrote, co-produced, and provides lead vocals for the band’s latest offering “Surrender,” quietly giving the new track away as a free download without much prior promotion.
Of course, Moore’s a man of many talents. The OWSLA head honcho’s cementing his well-rounded artistry and longtime stint as the lead vocalist of the group from 2004 to 2007, which included the band’s two Epitaph albums Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Bodycount and Heroine, before he officially adopted the solo Skrillex moniker in 2010.
Last year, Skrillex celebrated his birthday with a surprise release FFTL track called “Make War” and joined the band for a reunion show at Los Angeles’ Emo Night. Though we do still have formative emo year bands like Paramore and Panic, at The Disco carrying the proverbial torch that lights emo music’s more pop-leaning path, Skrillex getting back in the trenches still proves the music’s here to stay nonetheless.
