The existence of emoji art only further evinces that we are embroiled in the technological age. Artist Yung Jake transmutes emojis from text message accents to portrait mediums in his animated likenesses of musical icons.

Moon, basketball, giraffe, pig, and even orange fruit emojis collectively comprise Yung Jake’s recreations of the faces of Diplo, Avicii, Aretha Franklin, Lil Xan, and more.
An undoubtedly time consuming endeavor, Yung Jake’s emoji recreation of the faces of some of music’s largest icons is fresh, fun, and surprisingly realistic.
