Jerry Folk releases two tracks in anticipation of ‘Leisure Tapes’ EP

Jerry Folk has released the third single off his forthcoming Leisure Tapes EP, “Bakers.” Swiping percussion with authentic snare and rumbling 808s take a hold of dissident bells and vocal chops on the low and high octave ranges. “Sweetness On My Tongue” and “Another Night” were the first two singles released off Leisure Tapes. While these projects showcase Folk’s well-known funk side, his “Brakers” showcases a more percussion-based approach.

Preparing for the EP drop, Folk been teasing with individual tracks to keep fans fed. One of those tracks is “Charlotte,” which features vocals from Charlotte Day Wilson’s “Find You.” Folk’s subtle indie electronic ambiance is paired with a leading percussion arrangement that’s eventually joined by Wilson’s airy vocals. Lush, arpeggiated synths hug the song, adding a soft instrumental elements to contrast Wilson’s voice. This harmony emanates a warm sound from the producer well-versed in nu disco, jazz, and R&B.
