Young Thug drops feature heavy compilation, ‘Slime Language’
Young Thug celebrated his birthday with the release of a brand new project, Slime Language, a 15-track collection out on his own Young Stoner Life imprint. It’s the biggest chunk of music from the “Pick Up the Phone” rapper since 2017’s Super Slimey collaborative project with Future – but think compilation, not album. Of the 15 songs, only two see Thug going solo. The features start early, with Lil Baby joining the smooth “Chanel (Go Get It),” and Lil Uzi Vert boosting “It’s A Slime.”
Fans will have to hold tight for a true solo full-length, as Thug told Hypebeast in February his Hi Tunes LP is coming 2019, though he’s been cranking out feature after feature all year long, including a spot on Camilla Cabello‘s ubiquitous smash hit “Havana.” In related news, the rapper celebrated his 27th birthday with a Slime Language listening party that ended with the rapper’s arrest on a gun charge. Young Thug has since been released after spending a night LAPD custody. The promotional campaigns for releases may be getting a little out of hand with this one. Hear Slime Language below.
