Ross From Friends debuts ‘Squaz’ ahead of ‘Brainfeeder X’ compilation
Ross From Friends has released his latest track, “Squaz,” as part of the lead-up to the Brainfeeder X compilation. The track showcases the UK artist’s distinctly unique flair of the deeper regions of house, funk, lo-fi and electronica following the launch of the countdown to the release from label head Flying Lotus. Celebrating the label’s 10th anniversary, the release will include extensive new offerings — 22 new tracks, in fact — from the label’s stars, with Ross From Friends making multiple appearances alongside artists like Thundercat and Georgia Anne Muldrow. Out November 16, the compilation will be flanked by a four LP box set and a landmark show marking the anniversary to take place on December 15 in London.
“Squaz” is the first single for Ross From Friends after he released his debut album Family Portrait via Brainfeeder earlier this year. He is heading on his first U.S. tour to celebrate.
