Steve Angello teases new track on Instagram
Steve Angello had a relatively quiet day as shown through his Instagram story, shouting out Armand van Helden-frequented AV8 Records with a shot of a vinyl, and a quick video of a studio session. But in a year where his formerly disbanded Swedish House Mafia has confirmed their upcoming reunion, such a studio session could not possibly get by die-hard fans without speculation. The story clocks in only at 15-seconds long, showing an anonymous, dimly lit playback.
But with fans quickly working to cross-check the new material, theories have arisen that this snippet indeed shows a clip of Swedish House Mafia‘s forthcoming new music. The latest from discussions on Reddit theorizes that the track shown is an evolution of an ID debuted during the group’s comeback set during Ultra in Miami this year, affectionately dubbed by fans “Don’t Call It A Comeback.” While this is the second ID to surface from Angello as potential new music for the dance icons, it features dark, rock and electro-forward production that sparks further speculation as to what the group’s new music will sound like after spending five years on hiatus.
