Ariana Grande will be the youngest headliner in Coachella history

It’s thank u, next accomplishment for Ariana Grande, as the 25-year-old vocalist prepares to make Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival history pending her performance at the oh-so-trendy California 2019 iteration. Grande will be the youngest artist to ever headline the festival, and only the fourth woman to assume a headlining Coachella slot. Beyonce, Björk, and Lady Gaga each preceded Grande, topping prior Coachella lineups.

The sweetener album-maker will provide the central entertainment each Sunday of Coachella’s consecutive two weekends of production, April 14, and April 21. Childish Gambino and Tame Impala respectively comprise the Friday and Saturday headliners of Coachella 2019. Grande’s Coachella billing signifies another elevation in Grande’s furious upward trajectory in recent years. She recently set a YouTube record with the release of the music video for “thank u, next,” which rapidly became the most-viewed video on the platform within a 24-hour window. The visual segued Grande into the “biggest streaming week ever for a woman,” in the context of Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.
