ODESZA – Falls ft Sasha Sloan (TOKiMONSTA Remix)
Recently fresh off her latest album Lune Rouge, Los Angeles producer TOKiMONSTA a.k.a Jennifer Lee showcases continued brilliance on her most recent track, a remix of ODESZA’s “Falls.” The 14th track off ODESZA’s 2017 full-length album A Moment Apart boasted a remix package that included TOKiMONSTA’s as well as other artists like Kaskade, TroyBoi, and The Glitch Mob.
TOKiMONSTA’s elegant take on “Falls” paints a different picture that doesn’t lose the essence of the original track. With intricate melodic layers and beautifully crafted vocal chops, TOKiMONSTA evokes an airy feeling of nostalgia in the chorus that pairs with Sasha Sloan’s hopeful lyrics. Lee’s incorporation of simple chords, clean percussion and tiny embellishment of glitchy synths bring together a masterful composition that echoes her ability to consistently create unique listening experiences in a voice that’s inexplicably hers.
