Whethan’s Wallflower comes to life in video for ‘Top Shelf’ featuring Bipolar Sunshine
In November of 2018, Whethan released his eight-track debut EP titled Life of a Wallflower Vol. 1, which included hit collaboration with vocalist Bipolar Sunshine, “Top Shelf.” Now the track is getting the visual it deserves with a vibrant, trippy new music video. The video, starring model Alina Lee, blends reality and the fantasy of hallucination as Lee sits in a field playing with the album’s symbolic star—a wallflower. She eventually eats part of the flower, submerging herself in a hallucinatory world where the wallflower comes to life.
The video builds on Whethan’s plant protagonist, this time with a visual love story. Whethan speaks about the video in an official release, saying,
“This music video is a continuation of the story about Wallflower and his journey through life. It’s one of my favorite songs to play in my sets, and it was extremely fun to experiment with house music. Working with Bipolar Sunshine was an absolute honor and he absolutely nailed it.”
The video is now out via Big Beat Records.
