After transitioning from psych-rock darling act to mainstream popularity with their 2015 album, Currents, Tame Impala has kept fans on edge as they gear up for their next record. Having released the first single of the project, “Patience,” in March, the Australian band seems to be gearing up for something big with their next one, “Borderline.” The track comes right in time for their headlining Coachella performances.

“Borderline” expands on the danceable and electronic-leaning sound they began to explore on Currents. Distant vocals float textured keys and thick bass, making for a crossover piece as warm and sunny as the Indio desert. Such an aesthetic is one the band has clearly mastered by now, and is yet another exciting peak into an album that has kept fans waiting for four years.
