Groove Island is the next paradisaical festival getaway
The creators of Groove Cruise, Whet Travel, present a brand-new immersive experience on the idyllic Catalina Island. From September 27-30, Groove Island will unify music connoisseurs across the electronic spectrum for a cutting-edge festival with a lineup that includes the likes of Oliver Heldens, Mark Knight, Andrew Rayel, Chus & Ceballos, and Sam Feldt—to name a few. With Groove Island’s inaugural billing, devotees of tech house, trance, and techno will have the chance to not only dance to their favorite DJs’ sets, but join them for a variety of artist/fan activities as well.
In addition, the lineup will be hosted by a wide array of top-tier labels and brands within the dance music realm. DJ Mag, Toolroom, and Deep House Brunch are set to host stages, as well as Heldeep, Incorrect Music, and Deep Space. Whet Travel’s craftily produced stages will take place at venues like the Descanso Beach Club and the legendary Catalina Casino Ballroom, which boasts the world’s largest circular dancefloor. There are also day and night costume themes for fans to flaunt their festival style.
Groove Island offers more than a typical festival experience where attendees can curate their own adventure with options such as jet skiing, zip lining, glass-bottom boat tours, an escape room challenge, and more. There’s also the Whet Oasis healing journey from DJ Taz Rashid with yoga, 3D sound experience, meditation, and other restorative activities. These offer a welcome and stimulating change of pace as a way to explore and appreciate all the beauty Catalina has to offer.
Ferries will transport guests from four local and easily accessible beaches on the Southern California coast, while more adventurous guests also have the option to fly into Groove Island via helicopter. Learn more about the festival and snag a travel package here.
