Paul Oakenfold is set to soundtrack the Area 51 raid

The infamous Area 51 raid, which began as a joke but soon went viral on social media, is set to take place today, September 20. Only a few ambitious types have committed to exposing the aliens, but it remains that such a risky and momentous undertaking ought to have a fitting soundtrack. Paul Oakenfold has stepped up to the proverbial plate, releasing a statement to the press that he would be spinning some tunes at basecamp in the evening.

Oakenfold joins an array of ufologists and speakers boasting expertise on the subject of extraterrestrials, including former USAF Master Sergeant Jim Goodall, ‘UFO Jane’ Kyle, ‘Rogue Warrior’ Dick Marcinko, and more who are set to fill the void of the failed festival attempt in the area. An exclusive screening of Jeremy Corbell’s Netflix documentary, Bob Lazar: Area 51 & Flying Saucers, will also be screened before the musical programming kicks it.

It comes as little surprise to electronic music followers that Paul Oakenfold tasked it upon himself to spin during the Area 51 raid. The trance icon is known for playing sets in daring places, becoming the first DJ to play at Mount Everest basecamp, and later Stonehenge alongside Carl Cox.
