Mike Posner completes his walk across America
Earlier this year, Mike Posner set out on a mission to walk across America shortly after announcing his upcoming LP, A Real Good Kid. On Friday, October 18, his nearly 3,000-mile trek across the country came to its long-awaited finish upon reaching Venice Beach, California. It was a show of endurance and patience that very few can say they’ve accomplished.
The “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” singer shared the completion of his walk across America on social media with celebratory posts of himself on the beach. He also posted stories of fellow artists like Ty Dolla $ign and Mike Shinoda congratulating Posner on the accomplishment.
“This man has just WALKED across America. He is @mikeposner and there is only one. He always does exactly what he says he is going to do and there is no stopping him. CONGRATULATIONS MIKE ON BEING THE AMAZING PERSON YOU ARE”, Arista Records president/CEO David Massey posted on Instagram.
Posner began his 2,851 mile journey in April in Asbury Park, New Jersey. He set out to fulfill his bucket list dream following the death of his father in 2017 and the passing of his friend Avicii in 2018. On August 8, Posner postponed his nine-month walk after being bit by a rattlesnake in Colorado. He resumed his walk across America a few weeks later after a speedy recovery.
