Marb channels psychedelia with ‘Psilo’ EP
The past year has been one of the most significant in Marbs‘ career. In August of 2019, he launched the already-successful Desert Hearts Black imprint with Evan Casey. He also travelled across the world with his fellow Desert Hearts co-founders breaking ground in Germany, Australia, and beyond. Now, the time has come to focus inward on his craft, and with that, the artist offers up his first EP on 2020: Psilo, out on .
Psilo is the result of copious hours in the studio, and offers a glimpse into what’s inspiring Marbs most sonically at the current moment. True to its name, both tracks are tinged with psychedelic effects—be it the extraterrestrial sound effects present in “Psilo,” or the mysterious analog melodies in “Cybin.” The EP as a whole is shadowy, melodic, and driving; these elements are each cornerstones of Marbs’ musicality in and out of his sets.
