Bass music up-and-comers join forces for ‘Halcyon Sound Vol. 1’
It’s safe to say that bass music is having a moment. Thumping beats and wonky rhythms have become popular features in an increasingly frequent amount of tracks and bass-heavy artists are being placed at the forefront of festival and livestream lineups. Halcyon, a new imprint from Never Say Die veteran Oolacile that focuses on artists working under the umbrella of the emerging future riddim subgenre, is the latest cooperative to come out of the bass boom.
To introduce the newly-minted imprint to the dance music community, Halcyon has released an eight-track collaboration album, Halcyon Sound Vol. 1. The album is the first from Oolacile’s new imprint, which is a joint venture with fellow riddim label, Bewildered Productions. The LP features tracks from the likes of SVDDEN DEATH, Voltra, and of course, Oolacile.
