Watch the first official trailer for David Bowie biopic ‘Stardust’
After months of breadcrumbed news about the David Bowie-focused biopic Stardust, the first official trailer for the film has arrived. The production preview comes shortly after Stardust‘s debut at the virtual San Diego International Film Festival in early October. It notably arrives ahead of the film’s November 25 due date in United States cinemas and on streaming platforms.
Stardust, which stars Johnny Flynn as Bowie, will track the rockstar’s rise to fame during his 1971 tour of the United States and the years leading up to his ultimate transformation, his on-stage persona, Ziggy Stardust. The biopic has not received authorization from Bowie’s family and consequently will not feature any Bowie original due to its lack of licensing. Despite the lack of clearance, director Gabriel Range decided to move forward with the project, calling on Johnny Flynn to write a song that would sound like “an early, lost [Bowie] song that people haven’t heard.”
