Live Nation outlines plans for triumphant return to live music

On February 25, Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino gave an optimistic update on the future of live music in 2021. The primary focus will be receiving government approval to operate live events at over 50% capacity. After obtaining the necessary legal permissions, Rapino estimates approximately three months are needed to rehire staff and rescale the company.

This news comes after UK prime minister Boris Johnson unveiled his plan for Britain’s return to live events, with indoor concerts expected to return in May, and a complete return to pre-pandemic normalcy by June. Both the UK’s plans and Live Nation’s plan are heavily contingent on vaccination success. Fortunately, FDA approval of Johnson & Johnson’s single shot COVID-19 vaccine will hopefully support distribution.

Fans have many reasons to be optimistic for the future of live music, especially looking at 2022. The Live Nation CEO tweeted out the following graphic to illustrate the triumphant music comeback currently predicted to be on the way.
