Dillon Francis shines optimistic light on first original track of 2021, ‘Unconditional’

Dillon Francis has just unveiled “Unconditional,” his first original track of the year via Mad Decent. Across the year-plus of lockdowns, Francis has been a source of lightheartedness and comic relief for fans. Kicking off quarantine with a fun-loving “Bored In The House” remix, fans have since seen collaborations with the likes of Diplo, Oliver Tree, and Dua Lipa to name a few. On top of that, the IDGAFOS purveyor decidedly brought back deep-house alias DJ Hanzel, dropped off drum ‘n’ bass excursions, delivered an EP chock full of fan-favorite VIPs, as well as raised money for his favorite local restaurant.

“Unconditional,” which finds Francis linking with British producer 220 KID and singer Bryn Christopher, is the first release from Francis’ forthcoming full-length house project. The latest release features classic euphoric house tropes such as a buoyant piano progression, a catchy, upbeat hook, and lyrics that effortlessly smack a grin on the cheeks of listeners. While the track infuses a sense of love and belonging, it hinges upon the importance of family—even citing Francis’ grandparents for the single’s cover photo. Francis hits the mark yet again on “Unconditional,” hhe’s just announced his 2022 tour Sugar, Spice and Everything Ice U.S. tour with co-headliner Yung Gravy.
