Archaellum relocate to Monstercat for unifying melodic-house gem, ‘Threads’

Hexlogic and Felt Habit joined forces back in February, unveiling a new joint venture—their three-track Reflections EP—on This Never Happened. A half-year later, and Archaellum have now returned for a sophomore cycle, shifting gears from Lane 8‘s imprint to relocate to Monstercat’s Silk division for the project’s fourth sonic donation, “Threads.”

After a devastating typhoon tore through a Vietnamese city that Hex Logic and Felt Habit were in late last year, the two summoned a stroke of creative spirit to turn the wake of the natural disaster into a moment of togetherness, hence the track title, “Threads.” Picking right back up on the melodic-house grandeur of Reflections, Archaellum continue to hone in on their tranquil, polished fingerprint through a play on nature-based sounds and world-class piano work to “weave together as threads do; pulled together and made whole.” Archaellum explained their experience of seeing the first-hand devastation in Vietnam and how “Threads” came to be, stating,

“After the typhoon had come and gone, it left behind a city with streets scattered with debris. Sunken roads and uprooted trees; powerlines dragged along the ground while roofs caved in along the beachfront. Stepping out from barricaded doors expecting to find devastation, instead what I saw was resilience. Without hesitation, everybody went right to mending the wreckage.”
