Apollo Xo, Tanner Dixon pledge no allegiance to genre on ‘Metamora’
Considering that Apollo Xo counts R&B, reggaeton, disco, and UK bass among his musical influences, that his cuts often take on a multi-genre character should come as no surprise. Such is the case with “Metamora,” a largely house-leaning single that intermingles elements of trance, tech-house, deep-house, and acid-house in the form of a bumping Bang This release that’s saturated with lead synths and texture-amplifying percussion.
“Metamora” is a joint outing that Apollo Xo makes in tandem with Tanner Dixon. It’s Apollo Xo’s eighth single of 2021 and evidently, in the context of his repertoire, one collaboration begets another, what with “Metamora” succeeding his team up with Rich Furniss in late October, “I’ll Be There.”
