Stream Omega Sapien, Sega Bodega’s ‘Plum,’ produced by Baauer
Now in the 12th iteration of its annual Advent Calendar, inimitable UK label-design tastemaker LuckyMe rewarded streamers with a holiday hip-shaker for day six: “Plum.”
Produced by trap luminary Baauer, Omega Sapien’s and Sega Bodega’s collaborative track features a thrumming 808, jubilant harmonized falsettos, and subtle textural nuances denoted by the type of detailed production that only a seasoned aural architect like Baauer could execute. London-based Nuxxe label head Sega Bodega—a frequent LuckyMe collaborator who was previously featured on the label’s 2018 Advent Calendar—rounds out the tune’s production with an eloquent high-registered verse at the fore of a cinematic soundscape, sundered by an impressive delivery from avant-garde wordsmith, Omega Sapien. The Balming Tiger frontman (Sapien) made his debut on the LuckyMe label earlier this year with his acclaimed punchy banger, “DDOKBOKKI,” and the Seoul rapper’s performance on “Plum” is a deluge of fervent energy that’s as precise as it is dynamic.
Meanwhile, Bodega recently put out a 10-track LP Romeo, which includes features from innovative songstresses Arca and Charlotte Gainsbourg. The album is a stunner, with emotionally charged lyrics and atmospheric, multi-layered club sounds that enthrall and delight.
