Mt. Sierra completes ‘Mt. Joel’ EP with ‘6 AM In Vegas’

With deep synth-led pomp and circumstance comes “6 AM In Vegas” to soundtrack evenings turned mornings in Sin City. Threaded by the looping acknowledgment, “ain’t no party like a techno party,” the ebbing number—the fifth and final single from Mt. Sierra’s Mt. Joel EP—derives its loose bigroom influence from the producer’s separate Matt Yo project. It “made sense to make this a collaborative track between my two aliases and introduce Matt Yo to my followers,” Sierra said. And, as “6 AM In Vegas” renders clear, the emotive, deep, and progressive penchants of his Mt. Sierra alias synergistically merge with Matt Yo’s foundations, making for a fluid, refined cut to ease the transition from day to night.

“6 AM In Vegas,” which owes its origin to Mt. Sierra’s inability to sleep after a live slot in Las Vegas and his resulting resolve to start a new song that same evening, is preceded by “Mt. Joel,” “When It Rains,” “Stop Yourself,” and “When You Hold It Down,” all of which landed in 2021. Through “6 AM In Vegas” Mt. Sierra makes a self-released splash, directing his first record of 2022 to streaming platforms via SME Records. Stream Mt. Sierra’s latest below.
