STAR SEED put a refreshing twist on The Chainsmokers’ ‘High’
Remixes have long been an essential component of The Chainsmokers‘ catalog. Their meteoric rise was propelled in no small part by remixes, like their iconic take on “Dreaming” by Smallpools, and each of their previous three albums has been accompanied by extensive remix packs. Despite the more than two-year hiatus ahead of their forthcoming senior LP, it seems that reworks will remain entrenched in The Chainsmokers’ sonic fabric.
Their fourth studio album’s lead single, “High,” gets the re-imaginative treatment from none other than Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2022 STAR SEED. STAR SEED become the latest in a long, illustrious line of artists to share their vision of a Chainsmokers track, which includes Alesso (“Something Just Like This” remix) and ILLENIUM (“Don’t Let Me Down” remix). The experimental electro-pop duo provides a take that only continues to showcase their refusal to be defined by a single genre.
STAR SEED seem determined to build on the momentum they built in 2021, and their “High” remix notably comes on the heels of another high-profile release from just two months earlier, their Ophelia Records-supported Digital Forest EP, shich received radio play from Alison Wonderland, ILLENIUM, and Tritonal.
