ZABO dabbles in light and dark on ‘Dusk & Dawn EP’
Shortly after releasing his single “Flow,” ZABO returns with a brand 2-track short play — “Dusk & Dawn.” True to the name, he explores the polarities of darkness and light with two cuts that stand at odds with one another on this short and sweet EP.
Opening with “Bing Bong,” it becomes instantly apparent by the ominous, driving beat and heavy electro drop that this track represents the dusk side of things. A flurry of distorted vocals act set a strong underground tone that kicks off the EP. Then there’s track 2, “Desolation.” With a name like that, you’d imagine it was the darker of the two, but not so. ZABO makes “Desolation” feel uplifting, with melodic builds instead of grating drops, wrapping up the EP on a peaceful note..
