Premiere: Codeko returns to Ophelia Records with Casey Cook on ‘Sad Reality’

Fresh on the heels of his Trust Fall EP, UK native Codeko has imparted “Sad Reality” alongside Casey Cook via Ophelia Records. Signifying his momentous return to Dancing Astronaut‘s 2021 Label of the Year, Codeko’s latest arrives a future-bass tour de force distinguished by its hypnotizing breakdowns and hard-hitting drop sections.

“’Sad Reality’ is one of those songs that came together incredibly quickly,” Codeko said of the one-off. “Once I heard Casey’s vocals, I sat down with a guitar…It just clicked, and a few hours later I recorded the basis for the entire song.”

The “Superhuman” producer has once again enlisted vocal support from Los Angeles singer-songwriter Casey Cook; the pair is memorable for previously joining forces on 2021’s “Crazy,” from Wooli’s Resurrection EP, also released via Ophelia.

“Sad Reality” will formally release on July 8, but listeners can stream the single one day early, exclusively on Dancing Astronaut. Hear “Sad Reality” below and catch Codeko providing tour support on select dates for both Gryffin and Audien.
