Fred again.. announces third installment of ‘Actual Life’ LP series, hands in new single
One would be hard pressed to find someone having a bigger year than Fred again.., and we’ve still got a few months left on the calendar. But with the announcement of Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9, 2022) now underway, the British multi-hyphenate—and Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2022—is cementing his campaign for artist of the year, putting enough distance between himself and the rest of the pack to stop and smell the roses a bit.
Coming off of collaborative stretches alongside Swedish House Mafia, Future, HAAi, Romy, Skrillex, and more, not to mention a thrilling Coachella debut and an unbeatable Boiler Room outing, the third installment of Fred again..’s intimate sonic diary arrives in full on October 28 via Atlantic Records. Though, fans can get an early glimpse into Fred’s newest 070 Shake-sampled entry with the delivery of “Danielle (Smile On My Face)” ahead of the full project’s release.
Fred again..’s appeal as one of the most groundbreaking artists of the current moment really derives from the nature of his work on the first two Actual Life albums. Deeply personal collections of voice notes from friends, meaningful record samples, emotive video clips, field recordings, and more, Fred again..’s Actual Life series is unlike many other electronic or dance projects out there right now, setting Fred’s work in a league of its own in a relatively short time since his emergence as a solo artist. Now, as the third Actual Life LP draws near, Fred again.. appears to be the name at the tip of everyone’s tongue, and for good reason. Landing just as the year begins to wind down, we may have a late inclusion for album of the year on our hands in just a few short weeks.
