O Cinnedi concludes provocative seven deadly sins project with ‘Wrath’

In 2021, O Cinnedi started a seven-part series of singles conceptually guided by the seven deadly sins. The themed project’s first installment, “Pride,” has since been followed by “Greed,” “Lust,” “Envy,” “Gluttony,” and “Sloth.” Now, the provocative undertaking concludes with “Wrath,” a finale punctuated by shrill, unnerving sounds that immediately instill a sense of the ominous. Indeed, “This project was to make you feel uncomfortable,” says O Cinnedi, “it was never built to make you feel good or to follow the superficial aspects of social media. This was supposed to make you cringe, overthink, and introspect…I am here to make you think.” And make listeners think the up-and-comer does through the seven deadly sins effort, which is characterized by climactic, cinematic sound design—a product of her earlier study under Archie Pena, a four-time Grammy Award-winning producer who previously worked with Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Shakira.

Audience response to O Cinnedi’s seven deadly sins initiative was reflected in its third single, “Lust,” entering the Top 25 on Beatport. Nearly each piece of the septuplet comes with a short film, all of which are available to stream via O Cinnedi’s YouTube channel, adding additional creative layers to an already rich conceptual project. With “Wrath,” the series comes to a memorable close; stream it below.
