LEFTI, Rich Furniss strike balance on debut collaboration, ‘You Made It,’ featuring Amazonian Rockstar

From their audible synergy to the undeniable groove that they set in motion on “You Made It,” it’s hard to believe that the Amazonian Rockstar feature is LEFTI and Rich Furniss’ first collaboration. Rife with Amazonian Rockstar’s rousing, soulful vocals, propulsive percussion, and disco twists characteristic of the label where “You Made It” lands—Quincy Boy Records—the pulsating single finds the two New York-based house tastemakers achieving balance on a production that neither leans too heavily in LEFTI’s stylistic direction, nor Furniss’. LP Giobbi listeners will recall the singer-songwriter’s vocals from the 2021 single, “Say A Little Prayer.”

“Writing this song with Nicki [Amazonian Rockstar] was magical; we say and just talked about where we were in life. When she came back with the lyrics and vocals, I knew this would be a hit,” says Furniss. “I had to bring in my long-time brother LEFTI to take this song to the next level.”

On that higher level, it thrives, marking Furniss’ second one-off of the calendar year following January’s “Out Of This World.” It is LEFTI’s third appearance in the dance release ring, to which the label head brought “Got Alotta Love” and “Move Your Body” in January and February, respectively.
