Anyma, Cassian turn in thrilling rework of Jimi Jules’ ‘My City’s On Fire’

If not for Skrillex, it’s been the year of Anyma thus far. Already marking his third release—and second remix of the year after his take on “Turn On the Lights again..”—Anyma is back again, and this time in coordination with Cassian. Out now via RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue Records, the duo have finally freed their rework of Jimi Jules‘ “My City’s On Fire.” After Anyma reworked “Alive” and Cassian reworked “On My Knees,” the the Afterlife veteran and a Rose Avenue Records regular are now ready to tackle a new project, which makes for Anyma’s first-ever co-remix effort.

Originally released on Dixon‘s Innervisions towards the end of 2021, the acapella of “My City’s On Fire” received widespread support from some of the biggest names across both house and techno. And it now receives an uptempo, melodic remix, with Anyma and Cassian’s co-remix having prompted amazing crowd reactions in Tulum, Miami, Brooklyn, Madrid, and many more. Through the alluring and ear-pleasing lead, Anyma and Cassian have combined the original’s memorable vocal with a thumping, consistently rapturous arrangement. While this rework precedes a collaborative single for the two producers, rumors have begun swirling on social media that a proper Afterlife single may be well on the way.
