MEDUZA tap into 90s nostalgia with ‘Friends’
Italian trio MEDUZA officially have their latest release on their newly formed imprint AETERNA Records. With two successful releases already under their belt, the label has now geared up to release MEDUZA’s highly anticipated track “Friends,” which has been an ID in the group’s sets for the past year. A thumping and nostalgic single, “Friends” continues to build on the buzz and momentum MEDUZA has garnered in 2023.
“Friends” is a nod to classic ’90s rave music, with MEDUZA putting their own unique spin on it. With the trio’s characteristic sound of cutting synths and spacious echoes that persist throughout the track’s breakdown, the listener is carried away into a world of melodic techno and future rave that is uniquely MEDUZA. Using a transcendental vocal, MEDUZA was inspired by the rave sounds of the ’90s and sought to create a modern interpretation of that sound, bringing back the same emotions and feelings they remembered from that era.
