Le Youth announces sophomore album ‘About Us,’ shares first This Never Happened single
Just over a year following the arrival of what would eventually become one of Dancing Astronaut‘s Top Albums of 2022, Le Youth has schedule its successor. Titled after his 2020 single with EMME and a show concept that began in 2022—based on an authentic artist-fan experience—About Us will mark Le Youth’s second This Never Happened album on September 29, telling “the story of us. Authentic and raw. Covering the spectrum of emotions. Some songs were made to move you emotionally and some to move the dance floor. it’s a true expression of who [he is] as an artist and as a person.”
And “Like You Did” has landed as the first About Us preview in tandem with the album’s revelation. It’s a track that surprisingly enough dates back to even before Reminders, with Le Youth explaining that he needed time to gather a proper perspective on it. And four years later, it ultimately serves as a sublime, fitting introduction to the About Us story. It’ll be one of 12 tracks on Le Youth’s sophomore album tracklist, including appearances from Fractures, Jodie Wright, Hayes Kramer, Kairos Grove, EMME, Bailey, and MØØNE. But—of course—About Us‘ most mouthwatering inclusion is “I Will Leave A Light On”—better known as ID10 in the “Summer 2023 Mixtape“—which is formally confirmed to be alongside with the label boss Lane 8 and Jyll.
