Defunk takes a journey through sound on fifth studio album ‘The Voyage’
Logan Anderson, better known as Defunk, has been an active member of the electronic music scene for over a decade. The Canadian electronic music producer is known for blending elements of funk, electro, hip-hop, and bass and his unique style has caught the attention of guys like Pretty Lights, GRiZ, and Gramatik. Over the years, Defunk has performed at some of the world’s biggest stages including the Red Rocks Amphitheater, Electric Forest Festival, and Canada’s Shambhala Festival.
Defunk latest, “The Voyage,” is a 14-track album that marks his fifth major release and his first in nearly ten years. The album showcases his versatility as an artist, navigating various electronic genres. It also delves into personal experiences, reflecting on his life during the global pandemic and his new role as a father. Tracks like “The Departure” and “Blast Off” set the tone for the album, while songs like “Coming In Hot” and “Waves” highlight his ability to blend different musical elements to his will. The album concludes with “Sunrise,” wrapping up a collection that speaks to Defunk’s range and depth as an artist and producer.
In line with the album’s release, Defunk is embarking on “The Voyage Tour,” set to start in September. The tour will see him performing in cities from Detroit to Las Vegas and will run until November.
