In December of last year Hakkasan Group purchased a controlling stake in Light Group and 22 of its properties including Light Nightclub and Daylight Dayclub. Already responsible for MGM's Hakkasan and Wet Republic properties, as well as Caesar's brand new superclub Omnia, Hakkasan Group aims to differentiate Light from its other properties by focusing on a diversely-curated lineup rather than main stream superstars. Daylight, the nightclub's complementary pool party is also being re-imagined with the introduction of the Sundown concept, the Strip's first deep house day party headlined by Guy Gerber for its grand opening on April 26th.
Danny Avila signs deal with Hakkasan, becomes youngest DJ to ever hold a Las Vegas residency
Just after celebrating his 18th birthday, Danny Avila has announced that he will join Hakkasan Las Vegas as a resident in the summer months. Starting in April, Danny will play both the WET REPUBLIC pool parties as well as the monolithic megaclub, sharing the space with Calvin Harris, Tiesto, Deadmau5 and more. As the youngest resident in Las Vegas history, Danny is setting a new precedent for Vegas nightlife.

After almost a year of heated speculation surrounding the most extravagant club in Las Vegas history, Hakkasan will finally open its doors in late April. With a residency lineup that boasts some of the biggest names in dance music, seven floors of over-the-top Vegas amenities and MGM's already iconic Wet Republic party in tow, the new superclub in town is ready to claim its space in the Vegas nightlife scene. From April 18th to the 21st, Hakkasan will be hosting its preview weekend featuring sets from deadmau5, Hardwell, Bingo Players and Tommy Trash, giving lucky guests a taste of what's to come from MGM's latest nightlife behemoth. Seven days later the club will celebrate its official grand opening with four days of the most sought after talent in dance with Steve Aoki, deadmau5, Calvin Harris and Laidback Luke all scheduled to perform. From May 3rd to the 5th, MGM's fight weekend for the Mayweather/Guerrero fight will complement bruising athleticism with punchy beats from R3hab, Tiesto and Calvin Harris - signifying the club's newfound prominence in the American Ibiza.

Beginning this April, deadmau5 will appear at both Hakkasan and the MGMGrand's renowned WET REPUBLIC. “With all the projects I have going on right now, I'm so excited to be back in Vegas doing what I love to do best,” says Joel, who recently released a remix package and video for his collaboration with Imogen Heap, "Telemiscommunications." After announcing Musical Freedom labelhead, Tiësto, and Fly Eye Records frontman, Calvin Harris, as the first two official residencies of the MGM Grand's new megaclub Hakkasan, the multimillion dollar venue has added Dim Mak founder, Steve Aoki, to it's residency roster in 2013. Aoki's planned residency will consist of 6 nighttime parties dubbed Neon Future as well as a slew of pool parties at WET REPUBLIC for his AOKIFY SPLASH VEGAS brand. Aoki's presence will surely add a jolt of party-friendly adrenaline to Hakkasan's continually impressive residency lineup - let's just hope birthday cake doesn't ruin the pool.
