Giveaway: Verboten celebrates its first birthday with top notch lineup
Verboten Nightclub in Brooklyn is about to celebrate its first birthday. Now a staple of Brooklyn's burgeoning underground music scene, Verboten had its humble beginnings as a small, yet forward-thinking party promoter over a decade ago. Since then it has become the benchmark for which all other house music venues are compared. Establishing its permanent home in the heart of Williamsburg, Verboten is now a 10,000 square foot, warehouse-inspired, music mecca. To celebrate its one year anniversary, Verboten has booked an impressive lineup; Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons will be performing live on Thursday, March 12th, Resident Carl Craig and Balearic legend Luciano take control of the main room on Friday the 13th, and Maya Jane Coles controls the sound on Saturday night.
Mysteryland’s festival within a festival; Sunday School artists you can’t miss
While EDM will be given its fair shake throughout Mysteryland's US debut, the festival within a festival, Sunday School, looks to be the bohemian retreat for many of those interested in dancing without any neon distractions. The tech and house driven refuge has outgrown its single stage version found at Electric Zoo and instead occupies 3 full stages, The Big Top, the mirror-covered Spiegeltent and a special Vinyl Only arena. Over the course of two days, forty of the most cutting edge talents in tech house, deep house and techno will provide the soundtrack for the more seasoned dance music fans. From Detroit's Visionquest crew, to Pan Pot, Carl Craig, Joris Voorn and Ovum's 20-year anniversary, there is no shortage of eclectic underground talents in this lineup.
