Good Morning Mix: Lenno’s Never Stop Mixtape
No morning is complete without a cup of coffee, an unshakable feeling of dread, and a bit of nu-disco and electro to wash it all down. Lenno's hour long October mixtape does just that, acting as a cure-all to your Tuesday morning ass-dragging. For those of you stuck in an office while the US government gets paid to hang out, let Lenno's twinkling nu-disco mix distract you from the injustice -- even if only for an hour.
DCUP vs Lenno – Supafine (Original Mix)
DCUP and Lenno prove that nu-disco is alive and well with their latest original collaboration, "Supafine." A frothy Seventies-tinged disco outing that bubbles over with cascades of white noise, "Supafine" replaces twinkling disco balls with heavily layered percussion that kicks through funky guitar riffs and electro flairs. Squeaky clean and deviously infectious, "Supafine" is available today via Chookie Records.
Atlas Genius – Back Seat (Goldroom Remix) [Free Download]
Southern Californian tropical disco maestro Goldroom put his signature good vibes touch on Australian indie band Atlas Genius's "Back Seat" in a free download released on his Soundcloud page yesterday. With the rework, the track transforms from a sprightly indie jam out session to an even more atmospheric disco tune. Atlas Genius's first single, "Trojans," (originally released in May 2011) got the rework from talent like Fred Falke, Lenno, and Xaphoon Jones and now it only seems to be a matter of time before other producers follow in Goldroom's wake and take a stab at this track as well. Get that free download hooked up after the break.
