Rithm originated as a standalone app designed to let users send each other music-based messages. Today, the platform is relaunching through an update that shifts its focus to becoming a lightweight streaming application. Originally, users could only listen to clips of songs, but thanks to striking deals with Sony, Universal, and Warner, the music messaging app is now the latest to throw its hat into the streaming ring. The announcement comes with a new commercial structure for low-cost streaming at $3.99/month - much cheaper than the current host of competition. As with most streaming platforms there is also a freemium (ad-supported) tier of the service available.
