Who are you going to close out Ultra Music Festival with?
So your bags are packed, you're about to board your flight to sunny Miami. Nervous excitement for what's ahead hangs in the air, you tap your feet anxiously while you wait for the flight attendant to announce your row for boarding. As your well-planned pre-Miami playlist bumps in your favorite pair of headphones, you think to yourself, "Why do they let old people and children board first, this is seriously killing my Miami time."
Swedish House Mafia release interactive app for final shows
For those of us who just can't seem to let the trio go, there is now a new way to experience the Mafia's final show - this time in the form of a mobile app called Lisnr. The app will allow concertgoers access to free exclusive content just by being present at SHM's final show. The goal is to expand the visuals for the Masquerade Motel in Los Angeles and the groups' two final shows at Ultra Music Festival by enhancing the viewing experience. What that means we are not entirely sure, but since most fans already have their phones out Instagramming and recording the event, a mobile application was a logical move. Axwell had this to say; ""[This] will allow us to come together with our fans for a totally unique experience. Together, as one, for one last rave!”"
Reasons to wake up early for Ultra Weekend One
With the prospect of a long day ahead, festivals can be tempting times for ticket holders to stay in bed a little bit longer. You're missing the opening acts, but hey, at least you'll have energy for the end of the night, right? Wrong. Showing up early to festivals have led me to some of my favorite sets in memory. Lines are shorter, stages aren't as crowded, and you have the opportunity to catch some of the most promising talent of the day. Artists opening festival stages feel a lot of pressure and tend to deliver far beyond expectations. With Weekend One of Ultra fast approaching, start planning your first sets of the day.
Tiësto, Quintino, & Alvaro – United (Original Mix) [UMF Anthem]
On top of diverse remix duties for Passion Pit Zedd, and Dada Life, Tiësto's collaboration alongside fellow Dutchmen Quintino and Alvaro, "United," is being released today on Ultra Records. The three-way collaboration is a propelling big room track wielding an extensive chord-laden build up and a buoyant Dutch house drop.
