In one of the most thrilling artist pairings of late, Jeremy Olander has teamed up with fellow standout progressive talent Cristoph to present a collaborative EP for John Digweed’s legendary Bedrock imprint. Boasting two tracks, “Last Dance” and “Dimensions,” the EP marks both artists’ debut on the seminal label.
While Olander has built a steady name for himself on imprints like Pryda Friends, Suara, and of course his own Vivrant, Cristoph has similarly solidified his reputation for peak-time offerings on labels such as Knee Deep in Sound, Truesoul, and more recently, Sasha’s Last Night on Earth. The pairing thus unites two of the more exciting producers of the moment in the beautiful cross-section between progressive and techno — and fortunately, the results speak for themselves.
On the back of gorgeous A-side “Last Dance,” the EP’s second track “Dimensions” — which Dancing Astronaut has the privilege of premiering — is a deeper, more cerebral dancefloor offering. Built upon the kind of effortless groove which has become a staple of both artists’ craftsmanship, the track proceeds to methodically evolve over its drawn-out arrangement with complex pad work and entrancing melody lines.
Cristoph and Jeremy Olander’s new EP is due out on Bedrock on May 15. Pre-order it here.
