You know dubstep has gone mainstream when it is the soundtrack for the latest Coke commercial. Madonna & Michael Jackson-type stars have now been replaced by the giants of EDM in the commercial landscape: first Avicii in his Bud Light ad, and now Adventure Club in a brand new Coca-Cola commercial.
The Montreal based duo is known for their subtle melodies and accessible dubstep bass sound. Also featured in the commercial is Marquese Scott, whose video of him dancing to a dubstep remix of “Pumped Up Kicks” went viral with 43 million views. In Norway we got shitloads of commercials with EDM in it – mostly dubstep – even the new Sports Section intro got sum dubstep in it – it’s finally taking over !!
Not a big deal, I hear dubstep in every other commercial these days. It makes for pretty epic commercials. And adventure club blows live. just sayin
