The year is 2013. Bangers are on their way out and soul is on its way back in, thanks in no small part to a French robot duo and two British brothers. It’s only fitting that the Prince of Soul should be seeing more frequent remix attention, and up-and-coming Norwegian producer Kygo has done just that with time-tested seduction song “Sexual Healing.” The young artist’s mellow reinterpretation pairs the classic vocal alongside a lighthearted melody and cheerily complementary percussion. It’s a surprisingly tropical take from a Nordic artist in November, but those of us suffering through similarly cruel winters shouldn’t begrudge a little wishful thinking.
