2013 was the year in which Todd Terje reigned in his deacde of affirmative action for the ranks of indie dance. For 2014, the Norweigian advocate of all things futuristic disco has primed his coltishly dubbed debut album ‘It’s Album Time’ for release this April. Dropping on his homegrown Olsen imprint in the wake of WMC, the 12-track venture will match familiar favorites as “Standbar” with a string of new material, including a collaboration with Roxy Music’s Bryan Ferry. If the likes of last year’s Spiral EP and subsequent Essential Mix duties are anything to go by, ‘It’s Album Time’ could well be the first epic indie dance record of 2014 from its quirkiest and most consistent player to date.
