NYC duo Walker & Royce unleash ‘My Stop’ EP on Catz N Dogz’ Pets Recordings
Release number fifty-six from Catz n Dogz‘ world-dominating label Pets Recordings comes from New York duo Walker & Royce in the form of a booty-bouncing blissful two-track EP entitled My Step. With a string of hot releases on labels such as Moda Black, Highgrade, Sincopat and Crosstown Rebels, Walker & Royce take a step aside from the whimsical and unleash two balls-to-the-wall club rollers, “My Stop” and “Seventeen.”
The EP’s title track “My Stop” gets down to business immediately with thudding kicks chugging away as a swinging groove works into a frenzy and a vocal sample repeats “About to get off.” Almost perpetually climaxing, the duo tease with skipping percussion, miss-hit beats and radiating shots of subbass before indeed getting off, when a tongue-in-cheek vocal says “This is my stop,” and the track explodes. “Seventeen” follows a similar template for booty shaking, using warped vocals and round bass for a sweaty club workout. It’s easy to see why Walker & Royce are making waves from Brooklyn to Europe and beyond.
