The Chainsmokers perform ‘Roses’ live on The Late Late Show with James Corden

Although Drew and Alex may have deleted it from their memories, many of us remember The Chainsmokers‘ cringe-worthy, prime time debut on American Idol, playing their breakout single “#SELFIE” on the show back in May 2014. Since then, the duo have matured quite a bit, to say the least. The duo made a massive splash in 2015 with their single “Roses,” which currently sits #3 on the Billboard dance charts. To redeem their American Idol appearance over a year and a half ago, The Chainsmokers landed a spot to perform “Roses” live on James Corden’s The Late Late Show alongside the track’s vocal talent Rozes.

With a new live set up featuring Drew on keyboards and Alex on a MIDI pad behind to play the vocal cuts and drums, Rozes stands center stage to lead the track’s play time. The surprise of the performance comes at about 40 seconds when Drew steps out on the front of the stage and debuts his own vocals to add a deeper layer to Rozes for a truly special rendition. With a massive New Years Eve show slated at Pier 94 for this year, The Chainsmokers looks to keep their momentum pushing ahead into 2016.
