The wait for What So Not’s Gemini’ EP is finally coming to an end

No, Dr. Dre’s infamously elusive record The Detox will never see the light of day. Fans waited and waited for Dre’s promised return, but unfortunately it never came.

What So Not‘s Gemini EP was becoming dance music’s closest equivalent to The Detox. The then-duo, now helmed solely by Emoh Instead, had been promising new music since he and Flume parted ways on the collaborative project, but in the shuffle of inter-label bureaucracy, somehow Gemini managed to stay under wraps for over a year following its completion. Thankfully, that wait now seems to be over.

In an Instagram post announcing Sweat It Out‘s Christmas-themed lineup, the Australian label added What So Not to the roster, while simultaneously announcing that the performance would be on the same day as Gemini’s long-awaited release – December 18th. Though most artists dream to be compared to Dr. Dre, in this case, Emoh is likely relieved not to be sitting on new music anymore,
