Tensnake gives a nod to his travels with ‘Desire’ EP
Taking a brief pause from the engrossing life of touring, Marco Niemerski, better known as Tensnake, spent the past three months in his Berlin-based studio working on new music. The result is a two song EP titled Desire — his first original work of 2016. Recognized for his particular blend of deep house that pits whimsical disco-derived elements against heavier basslines, Desire sees Niemerski affixing an exotic flair to his sound.
Influenced largely by his travels to Asia and the Middle East, title track “Desire” is at once haunting and mesmerizing, featuring a feverish vocal sample that rolls throughout the track. Kicking off at an increased pace from the former, “Fantasma” touches lightly on acid house before settling back in to its percussive amalgamation.
Out now on Tensnake’s label, True Romance, Desire paves the way for a series of releases set to come from Niemerski this year.
