Death reported at Australia’s Omega Festival

Omega Festival, held in the Australian state of New South Wales, has seen reports of the death of 24-year-old attendee David Gallagher. Though no cause of death has been officially confirmed, authorities are investigating the man’s death as drug-related after finding paraphernalia at the scene.

The deceased was found in a parked car about 200 meters (656 feet) from the festival’s main stage. Local police had harsh rebukes for the festival’s organizers and were shocked that they did not shut the event down.

My concerns are these rave event organisers show no regard for the safety of people… They need to be shut down and stopped. Evidence of their disregard shows how they failed to stop the event despite someone dying in front of them,” said Detective Inspector Darren Jameson.

Omega Festival has yet to comment on the deceased’s passing.
