Watch This: CNN’s Lisa Ling goes undercover to track down toxic drugs at Mysteryland

Former raver-turned-iconic investigative journalist, Lisa Ling, opened up earlier this week in a penned essay about her experiences with underground rave culture and drug consumption. Her story went live ahead of her CNN television special that aired last night, “This Is Life with Lisa Ling.” In the episode, Ling and her camera crew head to Mysteryland to explore the potential dangers of what many party-goers believe to be pure MDMA or “Molly” as a growing number of consumers remain unaware of additional toxins mixed with the synthetic drugs they’re taking.

The vigilante team joins a festival-goer to case study some of the drugs they found using a test kit; substances that produce a black or purple color indicate the drug is most likely pure while a yellow color signals the drug may be tainted with deadly additives like heroin, speed or even crystal meth.
