Jauz releases two more new tracks for free download in honor of Shark Week

Jauz’s output in celebration of Shark Week has ben explosive, to say the least. Thus far, the Los Angeles producer has switched things up his typical bass house stile with a remix of DJ Snake‘s “Propaganda” and an original called “Goodiez.” Now he is continuing with another original “For U”and a collaboration with fellow Los Angeleno and (prehistoric) shark enthusiast Megalodon.

“For U” continues the theme of experimentation and pursuing different sounds that has marked much of this period of productivity. A nasally lead synth does much of the heavy lifting in this original, occupying a prominent spot in the piano-led intro and again in the open, rolling drop. The low end is occupied by warbling Reese bass that gives this track a vaguely similar feel to that of Marshmello‘s.

The aptly named “Shark Attack” falls back into the sound that Jauz —and Megalodon for that matter —has made his name on. From its onset, this track announces itself as an aggressive bass house explosion. Raucous, rapid fire slashes of sound slice over a pounding four-on-the-floor beat during the first drop. Seemingly immediately after, the second drop opts to go half-time, opening up the space while still optimizing the track for serious headbanging. For any fans who were apprehensive that Jauz was moving past his aggressive ways, “Shark Attack” should put those concerns to rest.

Both tracks are available as a free download on Jauz’s Soundcloud.
